SSH-6 Mid-Side Stereo Shotgun – capsule microphone for Zoom H5 and Zoom H6 recorders. Next to the super-directed "gun" to pick up sound in the center, it has a dual microphone to pick up sound from left and right. You can adjust the stereo range by adjusting the MIC LEVEL sides in the same way as on the Mid-Side MSH-6. If you are recording in RAW mode, you can adjust the stereo width even after recording. You can use this feature to capture a specific audio source and later add the surround sound captured by the side microphone.

For example, when recording audio for movies, videos, or news, the actor or reporter's voice should be as clear as possible. Ambient sounds can then be added in post-production to capture the atmosphere of the scene. On the other hand, if the ambient sound is noisy, you can lower the stereo width so that the voice can be heard better. You always have access to flexible recording management depending on the circumstances.
