April 15, 2015 at the Prolight + Sound 2015 international exhibition in Frankfurt, Yamaha introduced new series of digital mixing consoles, heralding a new, best-in-class solution for small to medium-sized audio applications.

Yamaha has largely redefined digital mixing for live performance and installations with the RIVAGE PM10 series of consoles , CL and QL. Now, with the TF Series, the company is opening up its cutting-edge technology to an even wider range of users, with advanced capabilities and Yamaha's highest levels of reliability at an affordable price range. With key features aimed at both new users and experienced professionals, the TF series offers the tools and capabilities of its large-scale CL/QL brothers even for small and budget sound reinforcement applications.

The TF series includes three compact , productive digital mixing consoles. The TF5, TF3 and TF1 respectively feature 33, 25 or 17 motorized faders along with 32, 24 or 16 analog inputs on the rear panel with high quality Yamaha D-PRE™ preamps for the first time in a digital console. These features provide significantly improved support for live sound applications where global settings changes must be made on the fly.

In total, the consoles have 48 inputs (TF5 and TF3, 40 for TF1), including 2 analog stereo pairs / digital USB and two returns. Enhanced live recording capabilities include up to 34 x 34 channels of recording and playback via USB 2.0 interface and 2 x 2 to a USB flash drive. All this, plus the seamless operation of external I/O devices, makes the TF series an excellent solution for a wide range of applications.

TouchFlow Operation™ is a new approach to console control that combines elements of advanced user interfaces Yamaha with a touch panel that allows operators to work with musicians on stage quickly and easily. Experienced engineers and novices alike will find it easier and faster than ever to achieve the perfect mix with TF!

In addition, in collaboration with leading microphone manufacturers such as Shure, Sennheiser and Audio-Technica, a whole range of presets have been created for TF for input and output channel settings. Input channel presets have been created to match the ranges of musical instruments and voices, covering parameters such as HA Gain, EQ, dynamics and more, down to details such as channel name and color indication. The output channel presets include parameters optimized for use with in-ear monitoring (IEM) and Yamaha speakers, with variations for different environments and room sizes. This is a huge benefit for novice users, while experienced engineers will appreciate the improved speed and efficiency of the systems.
